Concept

The musical work - Die Welt der Räume® (The World of Spaces) by Boris Baberkoff is already composed and produced and, therefore, ready to be performed.
From analogue and digital sound structures a new form of music was developed – Die Welt der Räume®, dense and complex musical constructions with high plasticity which allow a new and open form of reception.
A performance of the sound installation Die Welt der Räume® lasts from 20 to 120 minutes.
I possess my own sound equipment consisting of 12 loudspeakers that can be arranged in a circle (on tripods) adjusted to the size of the room.
Situated at the edge of the circle there is a small lightproof tent in which I play live on electronic cello to the sound sculptures (“Die Welt der Räume”) composed by myself.
The audience is placed on chairs or floor mats in the circle between the loudspeakers.

The entire performance takes place in absolute darkness.
The composition deploys a magical suction effect.
To let the sound enter your brain makes happen what great music has always been able to evoke: The sound structures create inner emotional spaces – a world constructed by its own rules beyond the world of banalities of everyday life. The place where this experience of art is happening will be strongly modified in the perception of the recipient: Die Welt der Räume® will impress an enduring signature on it.
Stimulated by the absence of the sense of vision and in combination with the specific emotional sound experience the brain will begin, after about 20 minutes, to develop its own visual images. A inner visual fantasy will arise.
The absent visuality will be translated by the individual imagination of the recipient in own images of experience and inner worlds of images.
In the consciousness of the listener the sound of the space will remain for a long time and will increase in value and significance.
